Finding Your Why: The First Step Toward Life Calibration
The Life Calibration is not solely about finding out what’s wrong, in many ways it also identifies what’s right. It’s flipping your mindset to view your life through a wider lens. Then to zoom back in on the life aspects that you want to focus on and improve. It’s simple, it’s actionable and it produces results.
Where the gears interlock is the self; it is who you are and what you do; it is your collective memories and thoughts; it is your internal narrative, as well as your external; it is your story; it is your journey; it is your life. All the categories that align from the life area gears interlock and are the aspects of your life. They define where and how you spend your time. At a glance you can focus on all the areas, and it places some clarity where there were feelings of being overwhelmed. It gives these areas of your life a place; a place to think about and to build upon in your inner workshops.
In this process you will get your personal dashboards to set your baselines within each of your life aspects. This will be the first step in finding your why. One cannot measure their growth without a measurement. This measurement will subjectively give you a reference point; “On this day this is where I am at within any of my given life aspects.”
You will put pen to paper and work through your personal dashboards identifying which of your life aspects need your intention. Intention, not attention. From here you will move from your identified why and move forward to your what and how. It is vital in the context of the Life Calibration to move forward from your why so that you do not get stuck in the why loop. It is in the power of the questions that we ask of ourselves. The more powerful the question, the more powerful the answer.
I invite you to take the Life Calibration as a guide on your journey. It’s the dashboard to your vehicle through the storms and fair weather. Align yourself, calibrate your engine, fill your tank and enjoy the ride!
